Staining your wood deck, fence, or outdoor feature is an excellent way to bring new life to your outdoor space while retaining a beautiful natural high-end look. Refinishing the exterior features of your home not only looks good but helps protect them from long-term damage caused by sun, wind, and water damage.

01 – Decide on Finish

When choosing the right finish for your deck, fence, gable ends, or other outdoor feature it is important to consider how the finish will stand up against the environmental factors over time. Stain soaks deep into the wood helping to prevent moisture damage, however it is not as effective as a paint coating. Decks will need to be re-stained more often than if you would choose a paint coating. Our goal is to find something you love and will last for many beautiful summers to come.

02 – Prepwork + Protect

Together we will look at the state of the wood and evaluate any damage that needs to be repaired. We will take good care to cover and protect your outdoor furniture, plants, and other outdoor features.

03 – Prepare Surfaces

Proper adhesion is our priority for ensuring our warranty. We focus on both cleaning the surface and evaluating areas that could be vulnerable over time. We power wash to remove dirt, mold, and mildew; fix damage (as requested in contract), sand the wood, and brighten it with a product called oxalic acid.

04 – Painting

Wood preparation is the key to a beautiful wood stain. Once the wood is clean, consistent visually, and free from any damage we apply the stain.

05 – Clean Up

We are careful not to interrupt your daily life while we are outside your home. When the job is complete we will remove all garbage, recycling, paint cans and other debris in your home.
